Starting the Server Management Tool from Windows NT/2000
The Server Management Tool (SMT) can be started using the NavisRadius 4.0
program group icon created during installation. You can also use a
command prompt and the nr script file found in the NavisRadius
bin directory. See, Starting the SMT
from a Command Prompt.
To connect to a remote Configuration Server
-
The configuration server you want to connect to must be running on the
remote host. (See Starting the
Config Server )
-
You can only connect to one configuration server at a time.
-
From the Windows Start menu > Programs >
NavisRadius, click Server Management
Tool . (You may also double click the nrsmt icon in
the NavisRadius bin directory.)
-
The startup splash screen displays showing the progress of loading the
components required to run the SMT.
-
The Connect Information dialog box appears.
-
Enter a user name and password for
the remote NavisRadius Admin access.
-
In the Host text box, enter the IP address and
port (host:port) of the configuration server.
The port must be the same as the Configuration Server was started on.
If a port is not specified, the default port 9099 is used.
-
Click Connect.
The Server Management Tool attempts to find a configuration server
running on the host and port you specified and verifies the user name
and password through it.
To connect to the local host file system
-
When the Connect Information dialog box appears, enter a User
Name and Password for the local NavisRadius Admin access.
-
Click the Connect locally check box.
The local host is the default, so a host or IP entry is not necessary.
-
Press Enter or click Connect.
The SMT workspace and resource outline appears.
To disconnect from the current Configuration Server
-
From the SMT menu bar, click Server > Disconnect from
Server, or click the
on the SMT toolbar.
The SMT disconnects from the current configuration server and displays
the main SMT window. You can then reconnect or connect to another
configuration server.
