Starting the Database Server

The Sybase Database Server is used to access user records The Server Management Tool (SMT) uses the Sybase Database server to allow access to user records to run SQL queries, add, change, or delete user records from a pre-configured database and save accounting information. The database can also be used to authenticate users using NavisRadius servers.

The database server must be running and connected to the SMT before user records can be managed from the SMT.

To start the database server

1. Use the database program icons created during installation to run the database server in either a network or a local mode.
   
   
   
2. Once the database server is running, use the SMT to manage users in the Sybase database server.
